We're top and bottom heavy... (i know it sounds contradictory, but it's not). What we're lacking is the numbers in NCO's, but they're getting there.

We have like 5 officers right now, about to be 6.....And we have 35 cadets, most are airman or Staff Sergeants..... We have a good balance, We have enough officers for flight commanders now, and enough NCOs for flight sergeants etc.......A unit that has no officers is usualy a bad situation most of the time, I was in a squad were our commander was a Senior Airman and our XO a Chief, soon people started giving him no respect and dident listen to him, and all the cadets were stuck at A1C because the commander was too worried that his position would be taken and held everyone back for stupid reasons....And then everything fell apart and I transfered and all the other cadets have left or stayed and are still airman, and now theres only 9 cadets..... It isent a good idea to have an enlisted cadet be commander, they might have the experience but cadets wont give them respect, I recomend being a Capt at least to be commander, or at least an officer grade..... Ihave never seen a Squad with to many officers so I cant give advice on that one though.

Cottonwood Cadet Squadron 212, Arizona Wing, has 10 cadet officers.

3 C/Cols
2 C/Lt Cols
2 C/Majs
1 C/Capt
2 C/2d Lts

We could use a few more lieutenants, but other than that we aren't top heavy.

My squadron has changed.

The C/Maj turned 21 and went to the dark side.

The C/Capts are still there, and one is still the C/CC

The C/1st Lt went the the Naval Academy

I just became a C/2nd Lt.

So, currently:

2x C/Capt
1x C/2nd Lt

My first Squadron was run by a C/SrA as the ranking cadet out of 6-10 baby cadets including myself :)

second squadron was run by a C/CMS as the ranking cadet out of 20-25 or so other NCO's and Airman

my current squadron had two C/Lt.Col's until i crossed over, both of us had command of the squadron at some point. on the books we have four 2nd LT's but 2 are inactive and the other 2 are in college out of state. the squadron is currently in the hands of a C/Capt as CC, a C/CMS as 1stSGT, and a C/SrA as flight sergeant
we have about 20 other cadets in the flight

Our numbers have fluctuated again, but we are back to one officer. We had at any given time in the last year or so two but one left, then we gained another and he went to another squadron.
We now have:
1 C/Capt (soon to be C/Maj)
We used to have:
2 C/2ndLt (one quit CAP after getting it and the other moved squadrons)

Our C/CC and C/DC are C/MSgts. I am pretty much the C/XO at C/Capt

Well currently we have.. 9 2Lts, 1 1Lt, 2 Capts, 3 Majors, 1 Lt Colonel

Of those, 2 Lts and 1 Captain are inactive. That leaves 13 officers and 25 Airmen/NCOs.

That means we can field an all officer drill team from the same squadron!

I just transferred to a new unit, and there are three including myself. The other two are fairly recent C/2d Lts.

So, current unit disposition:

1x C/1st Lt (me)
2x C/2d Lt

My old squadron had five when I left,

1x C/Lt Col
1x C/Maj (C/CC)
1x 1st Lt (me, now with another unit)
2x C/2d Lt (one of which has quit CAP since, from what I've heard)

And two other cadets are about ready to get their Mitchell.

We have a C/Maj as C/CC (although he's moving up to NER CAC next tomorrow), two C/2d Lts, and two C/CMSgts promoting to C/2d Lts very soon.

Don't forget - Today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday.

And, "Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away"

And, "Tomorrow, tomorrow, I love you tomorrow, you're always a day away"

Two C/2nd LT.
Cadet Commander, and Me. (Deputy Cadet Commander)
One C/Major, he goes to college in state, but still finds it hard to attend a lot of meetings, and his formal staff position is "adviser to the Cadet Commander")

We had 4 officers leave for college for the 2009-10 school year though.

We have two C/Chiefs, and a few C/SMSgt's, who will hopefully countinue (with some encouragement) promoting. I will hopefully be getting my 1st LT. In April, (I just got my ghost in Feburary).

Unfortunately our Cadet Commander seems to have given up promoting...

Considering we have 60 cadets on books, about 50 show up a meeting, we are extremely top (light?). We have a good number in middle and low positions, but just not a lot of officers.
